FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Anastopoulo Law Firm Seeks Tips in Case of Lake City Resident Killed in a Head-on Golf Cart Crash on June 28, 2022

Charleston, SC [7.8.22] -  The family of Sidney Kennedy has retained the Anastopoulo Law Firm to represent them and the decedent after his golf cart was hit head-on by a car on South Morris Street near Lake City, South Carolina. After being extracted from the mangled golf cart with the Jaws of Life by the Lake City Fire Department, Mr. Kennedy was transported to the hospital and later died from his injuries. After an initial investigation by Anastopoulo Law Firm and in collaboration with the Florence County Coroner’s Office, it is believed that his steering wheel impaled and killed him.
According to the Florence County Coroner, Mr. Kennedy was heading down South Morris street in the Pee Dee region when a vehicle in the same lane of traffic rapidly approached the golf cart, eventually striking him head-on. Local authorities are handling the ongoing investigation of the crash.
“Mr. Kennedy was simply driving his golf cart to work, as he did every morning, given that it was such a short commute.  But on this day things were different as another driver was not paying attention and hit Mr. Kennedy’s golf cart head on at a high rate of speed, pinning Mr. Kennedy under the steering wheel, and causing catastrophic injuries that led to his death.  It is yet another sad case of a driver not respecting all vehicles on the roadway.” said Roy T. Willey, IV, partner and trial lawyer at Anastopoulo Law Firm.
